The Rail Cart Adventure (15 min drive)
This new adventure begins near Ongarue Cottage and takes you for up to three days along a disused railway track through 24 tunnels, forests and farmlands, and over 98 bridges. The mode of transport is self-driven individual rail carts - all the way to the edge of Mt Taranaki, some 150 kms away. Forgotten World Adventures that created this adventure won the People’s Choice Tourism Award in 2018 and a offer range of packages for different durations.
